Finito!

Hey guys! Hows it hangin'?
I've got some pretty stellar new...
At 95,336 words, I've finished my first draft of The Towers! How exciting is that??? Okay, maybe not so much for you as it is for me, but still, its the longest novel that I've started (and completed) so far and I am incredibly happy with the way it ended. Well, not "happy" its a pretty sad one, if i do say so myself.

So, Natalie, now that you're done whats up next on that long to do list of yours?

Well, I'm glad you asked! First, I'm going to celebrate with a glass of cranberry juice and a giant spoonful of cookie dough straight from the tub. Then, I'm going to get cracking on a second draft with editing and tweaking and all that super fun stuff. Lastly, I am going to cross my fingers and do a rain dance as I send the final draft to a publisher I had my eye on for a while.
Here's hoping they pick it up!!!

Characters of The Towers--who i would cast (updated)

Ahoy everyone! So in my writing I always find it helpful to imagine the action in my head as if it were a live action film. And of course, in that process I begin to pair actors and actresses with those characters.
So how did I do, you think? Completely different that you imagined or spot on? Let me know what you think in the comments!

I had a really difficult time trying to come up with an actress for Spade and while watching American Horror Story today, I started to think that Ashley Rickards would bring such a great personality to her character. Obviously since the plus sized celebrity really only seems to exist in the land of The Towers, I feel like a little bit of padding would fix her up right away.

Aaron Johnson! *drool* How perfect would he be as Stratus? I love it.

Jake McDorman would be an excellent Till if he were to suddenly become a giant.

Alex Petyfer...woof. 'Cuse me while I faint. Just give him some long, tangly golden locks and he is rippin' and ready to go be Eyas! (except less sleek and fabio-esque than the rendering)

Jaimie Alexander know for her roles in Kyle XY and Thor, this girl is complete with the strong, independent personality perfect for playing Sawyer.

Okay, I know she's not exactly an actor, but Adele is one million percent accurate to play Ember. And Ember is considered to be a gifted singer/songwriter so who knows, maybe Adele would have a spontaneous musical number in the movie inside my brain.

Baines is very Atticus Finch-esque. I always see him as James Franco or Michael C. Hall

Nicole Kidman today. Nicole Kidman tomorrow. Nicole Kidman forever. Even the perfectly done pin curls in this photo fit the character. Then slick that hair back and put her in a silver cat suit and call her an Intel

An example of an Intel

These two were just too fun to do with the crazy hair and eye colors. Tide might even have a colored tinted skin as well. These two are examples of other brands you might find in The Towers. The style of The Towers is a little reminiscent of the early 1960s fashion except with brightly colored hair, eyes, skin and surges.
