Hello all! So I had the opportunity to meet up with a new author friend of mine from the myriad of writers groups I've had the pleasure of being a part of. There is a magical thing called blog tours in which an author conducts a series of interview swaps with lots and lots of other authors while promoting their book. My lovely author pal, Ashlee McNicol is on one of these such tours and has chosen to swap interviews with me! I was a little freaked out to see a tiny human sitting in the back of the room......
so. many. swears.
ermagerd.
I tried to edit myself and we all know how well that went.....shitty fuck fucking tits. And not only that, I HAD to read the goriest scene in the entire book.....
I think i scarred the small person for life. But he had a totally hipster dad with a long beard. So i think that makes it better? Right? RIGHT?I don't know. Im just trying to make myself feel better.
Anyway, the room wasn't totally empty. There were like eight people there.
Yay! Go me!
But not just because they were there for the poetry reading afterwards.......(shifty eyes) .....maybe.....

The Release of The Towers
Wow! So so much has happened in the past month! Sooo let me do a little update for you kiddies.....
The premier of The Towers happened! So that was a thing? Holy wowza mama cowza. Look at all the people who got it n' stuffs.

Thanks everyone for making me feel like one of the cool kids! And then i got a big move deal directed by Steven Spielberg starring Nicole Kidman and....jk that didn't happen.....but that would be really cool.........

Let me tell you all a little story....
Seven years ago back in 2008, I wrote a short story for a friend's birthday gift about her in the future saving a place called The Towers. She loved it. Two years later, I entered that story in a contest. Of course, I didn't win the damn thing but the response to it was amazing...so I thought why not turn it into a real book?
A little while after that, I had something cool. Something I could be proud of. I had no idea what to do with it because I never thought that publishing was a possibility for me. But then my amazing cousin Mary Gibbs turned me onto a small press called World Castle Publishing to which I sent my finished little sci-fi baby. After not hearing back from the other places, I was getting worried that nobody would pick my story up.
Until I got the email asking me if I was interested in a contract with World Castle.
And now, a year after I got that email The Towers is ready to grace the world!!!
Thank you, thank you, thank you for all of your help along the way, everyone. I am so incredibly grateful of all of you who have lent me a hand over the years whether you were one of my trusty beta readers or someone who just simply liked my page. You are all amazing.

Beach Bummin'
Ello chaps!
Just sittin' here in the beach house overlooking the B-E-AUTIFUL lake Michigan as I write this. No big deal, yo.
Hoping to get some serious novel-ing done this evening. I've been struggling a bit lately and I'm hoping some vacation time will get the creative juices a flowin'.
I'm also having a blast at my new job at Interlochen Arts Camp! Its been pretty chill and all the people I've met are amazing and just bursting with creativity. Its awesome to surround myself with people like that who can mutually inspire each other in their own art form.
Anywho, I'm done with my copy editor, Brieanna (who was totally awesome, by the way) and I am now waiting to hear from the proofers for round two! Hopefully the new novel will be hittin' the shelves soon!
okay, brb, going to the beach now......
